Simplement parce que si certaines esp\u00e8ces sont end\u00e9miques de r\u00e9gions restreintes, un grand nombre ont une aire de distribution \u00e9tendue sur toute cette zone.<br \/>\nAinsi par exemple, on trouve\u00a0<strong><em>Begonia palmata<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Don en Chine, dans les provinces suivantes\u00a0: Fujian, Guandong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Hunan et Yunnan ainsi que dans les \u00e9tats suivants\u00a0: Laos, Birmanie, Bhoutan, Vietnam, Inde. Cette esp\u00e8ce pousse \u00e9galement en Tha\u00eflande, au N\u00e9pal et au Bengladesh\u00a0; mais peu de B\u00e9gonias de la zone qui nous int\u00e9resse se rencontrent dans ces trois pays que nous garderons donc pour une \u00e9tude ult\u00e9rieure sur les b\u00e9gonias de l\u2019Inde, puis sur ceux du Sud-Est asiatique non continental. Un autre exemple, le\u00a0<strong><em>B. rex<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Putzeys tr\u00e8s connu, pousse en Chine (Guangxi, Yunnan et Guizhou) ainsi qu\u2019au Vietnam et dans l\u2019Inde du Nord-Est.<\/p>\n<p>Pour visualiser une carte de cette r\u00e9gion, cliquer\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/afabego.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/carte.pdf\">here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4>Une g\u00e9ographie complexe<\/h4>\n<p>La structure du relief de cette r\u00e9gion est globalement compliqu\u00e9e\u00a0: elle comprend une s\u00e9rie de paliers s\u2019abaissant d\u2019Ouest en Est et du Nord au Sud, r\u00e9sultant du t\u00e9lescopage des deux plaques eurasiatique et indienne.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le Sud-Ouest de la Chine, les plateaux du Yunnan et du Guizhou (entre 1000 et 3000 m) sont entaill\u00e9s de profondes gorges aux parois escarp\u00e9es. Au Sud, dans l\u2019Est du Yunnan, le Guizhou, le Guangxi, le Guangdong et l\u2019\u00eele de Hainan s\u2019\u00e9tend un immense karst* o\u00f9 les calcaires sont diss\u00e9qu\u00e9s en une v\u00e9ritable for\u00eat de rochers d\u2019une altitude inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 500 m et o\u00f9 subsistent quelques for\u00eats.<\/p>\n<p>La r\u00e9gion montagneuse du Yunnan se prolonge dans le Nord du Vietnam\u00a0avec des altitudes atteignant plus de 3000 m ainsi qu\u2019au Laos dans sa partie Nord, o\u00f9 des cha\u00eenes et des plateaux dens\u00e9ment bois\u00e9s sont entrecoup\u00e9s de vall\u00e9es et de gorges \u00e9troites et profondes alors qu\u2019 au Sud, une v\u00e9g\u00e9tation plus clairsem\u00e9e recouvre des terrasses calcaires.<\/p>\n<p>Le relief de la Chine se prolonge \u00e9galement au Myanmar qui est aussi un pays montagneux (avec des sommets de plus de 5000 m) constitu\u00e9 de deux cha\u00eenes orient\u00e9es Nord\/Sud\u00a0: l\u2019une, l\u2019Arakan, forme une barri\u00e8re naturelle avec l\u2019Inde et l\u2019autre est l\u2019extension m\u00e9ridionale du massif du Shan en Chine\u00a0\u00e0 une altitude d\u2019environ 1000 m.<\/p>\n<p>Dans toute cette zone, les fleuves circulent le plus souvent dans des vall\u00e9es tr\u00e8s encaiss\u00e9es. Ce sont\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Le Chang Jiang (ou Yang Tse Kiang\u00a0 ou \u00abfleuve Bleu\u00bb qui prend sa source au Tibet et traverse le Yunnan \u00a0avant de repartir vers l\u2019Est.<\/li>\n<li>Le Xi jiang, principal cours d\u2019eau de Chine m\u00e9ridionale qui prend sa source dans l\u2019Himalaya, coule vers l\u2019Est et se jette dans l\u2019Oc\u00e9an Pacifique au Sud.<\/li>\n<li>Le M\u00e9kong (Lancang Jiang) qui descend des hauts reliefs du Yunnan, traverse le Laos du Nord au Sud pour se jeter aussi dans le Pacifique au Sud de \u00a0l\u2019Indochine.<\/li>\n<li>La Salouen (Nu Jiang), qui traverse le Yunnan avant de\u00a0 s\u2019\u00e9couler au Myanmar pour se jeter dans la mer d\u2019Andaman.<\/li>\n<li>Le Fleuve Rouge (Honghe Jiang ou Yuan Jiang).qui prend sa source au Yunnan, traverse le Nord du Vietnam et se jette dans le golfe du Tonkin.<\/li>\n<li>L&rsquo;Irrawaddy au Myanmar qui coule vers le Sud et se jette dans le Golfe du Bengale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Le Yang Tse, la Salouen et le M\u00e9kong traversent parall\u00e8lement le Yunnan dans des gorges impressionnantes et botaniquement tr\u00e8s riches mais dont la biodiversit\u00e9 est tr\u00e8s menac\u00e9e par des projets de construction de barrages.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\">\n            \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"gf-container container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"vc_grid-container-wrapper vc_clearfix vc_grid-animation-fadeIn\">\n\t<div class=\"vc_grid-container vc_clearfix wpb_content_element vc_media_grid\" data-initial-loading-animation=\"fadeIn\" data-vc-grid-settings=\"{&quot;page_id&quot;:2051,&quot;style&quot;:&quot;all&quot;,&quot;action&quot;:&quot;vc_get_vc_grid_data&quot;,&quot;shortcode_id&quot;:&quot;1650300408164-900b8822967d0d50061b0f5dfedacb60-8&quot;,&quot;tag&quot;:&quot;vc_media_grid&quot;}\" data-vc-request=\"https:\/\/afabego.fr\/wp-admin\/admin-ajax.php\" data-vc-post-id=\"2051\" data-vc-public-nonce=\"f965838579\">\n\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\">\n            \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"gf-container container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<h4>Climat<\/h4>\n<p>En \u00e9t\u00e9, de mai \u00e0 octobre, l\u2019oc\u00e9an Pacifique fait p\u00e9n\u00e9trer une atmosph\u00e8re ti\u00e8de et humide vers l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du continent asiatique, provoquant d\u2019importantes pr\u00e9cipitations sous forme d\u2019orages cycloniques\u00a0: c\u2019est la mousson*.\u00a0 Le volume des pluies diminue rapidement \u00e0 mesure que l\u2019on s\u2019\u00e9loigne des c\u00f4tes ; pendant cette p\u00e9riode les temp\u00e9ratures sont uniform\u00e9ment chaudes sur l\u2019ensemble de la zone qui nous int\u00e9resse, elles diminuent en allant vers l\u2019Est et avec l\u2019altitude. Les provinces chinoises cit\u00e9es plus haut et le Laos sont \u00e0 cette p\u00e9riode sous climat tropical chaud et humide\u00a0(avec une hygrom\u00e9trie de 80% presque toute l\u2019ann\u00e9e dans le Guangxi) ; le Nord du Myanmar moins arros\u00e9 est chaud en \u00e9t\u00e9\u00a0; le Nord du Vietnam o\u00f9 la mousson se trouve att\u00e9nu\u00e9e par la position du Golfe du Tonkin est subtropical, moins chaud et moins humide que dans les autres r\u00e9gions.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019hiver, pendant lequel des vents froids et secs ass\u00e8chent l\u2019ensemble de la Chine, est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par de grandes diff\u00e9rences thermiques variant en fonction de la latitude et de l\u2019altitude. Cette saison s\u00e8che et fra\u00eeche dure de novembre \u00e0 f\u00e9vrier\u00a0: les r\u00e9gions du sud de la Chine, le Laos et le Nord du Vietnam aux influences tropicales connaissent des hivers \u00e0 peine marqu\u00e9s alors qu\u2019au Myanmar, la mousson d\u2019hiver apporte quelques pluies.<\/p>\n<h4>Les for\u00eats, en recul, comme partout<\/h4>\n<p>Dans toute la zone, comme partout, la for\u00eat a beaucoup recul\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Il reste actuellement : en Chine, 25 % de la surface du Yunnan recouverte de for\u00eats, 40% de celle du Guangxi (for\u00eat secondaire sur calcaires), 30 % dans le Guizhou et 50% dans les \u00eeles de\u00a0 Ta\u00efwan et du Hainan. Le Sud-Ouest karstique de la Chine \u00e9tait le domaine de la for\u00eat sempervirente scl\u00e9rophylle* en moyenne montagne calcaire. Une politique active de reboisement serait actuellement mise en \u0153uvre en Chine.<\/p>\n<p>Au Laos, la for\u00eat est tr\u00e8s d\u00e9grad\u00e9e et il n\u2019en reste que 52% .<\/p>\n<p>Dans le Nord du Vietnam\u00a0il reste entre 25% (Nord-Ouest) et 30% (Nord-Est) des for\u00eats originelles.<\/p>\n<p>Au \u00a0Myanmar\u00a0on trouve encore des for\u00eats caducifoli\u00e9es mixtes* (40% de la couverture foresti\u00e8re, autour de la zone centrale s\u00e8che), des for\u00eats temp\u00e9r\u00e9es ou d\u2019altitude (26%, dans le Nord et les zones montagneuses), des for\u00eats sempervirentes* humides (16%)\u00a0; la for\u00eat y est tr\u00e8s menac\u00e9e notamment par la surexploitation du teck et du padauk (bois de rose).<\/p>\n<p>Dans le Nord-Est de l\u2019Inde, au pied de l\u2019Himalaya, il existe encore des for\u00eats tropicales (en-dessous de 1000 m d\u2019altitude) et subtropicales (jusqu\u2019\u00e0 2000 m) relativement prot\u00e9g\u00e9es du fait de leur isolement.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\">\n            \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div encaiss\u00e9es et bois\u00e9es, rochers, sont les ingr\u00e9dients indispensables \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sence de B\u00e9gonias\u2026<br \/>\nOn y trouve au total plus de 200 esp\u00e8ces (d\u2019autres sont certainement \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir) et le tableau ci-dessous montre les zones o\u00f9 ils sont les plus nombreux (le nombre d\u2019esp\u00e8ces est approximatif)\u00a0: on constate que le B\u00e9gonias\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Des b\u00e9gonias rhizomateux : <\/strong>ce sont les plus nombreux et la plupart sont rampants<\/li>\n<li>Peu sont \u00e9rig\u00e9s :\u00a0 <strong><em>baviensis\u00a0\u00a0chuyunshanensis clavicaulis\u00a0\u00a0coptidifolia coptidimontana<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Certains perdent leurs feuilles en hiver : <strong><em>austrotaiwanensis dentatobracteata\u00a0 forrestii\u00a0 lancangensis<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Des b\u00e9gonias tub\u00e9reux :<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Un certain nombre des B\u00e9gonias de cette zone (une trentaine d\u2019esp\u00e8ces) sont des\u00a0<strong>plantes tub\u00e9reuses<\/strong>\u00a0qui poussent sur les rochers (peu sur calcaire), surtout en altitude (entre 200 et 3500 m, ce sont les b\u00e9gonias qui poussent \u00e0 l\u2019altitude la plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e) principalement dans les provinces chinoises du Guangxi et du Yunnan.(voir tableau ci-dessous)<\/p>\n<p>Leur v\u00e9g\u00e9tation est d\u00e9cidue*\u00a0: toute leur partie a\u00e9rienne dispara\u00eet en saison s\u00e8che ou en hiver. Le tubercule accroch\u00e9 \u00e0 des rochers ou coinc\u00e9 dans des fissures permet \u00e0 ces plantes de r\u00e9sister \u00e0 une saison froide ou s\u00e8che contraignante tout en constituant des
